Hi! My name is Sam and I’m currently a 3rd year medical student. I joined ISRCH because I believe that providing students with an opportunity to get involved in healthcare research is vital to the future advancements of medicine. This conference is an excellent opportunity for students to present their research in front of their peers and potential future collaborators and have fun at the same time. Alexa Moschella | Co-Chair
Hi! My name is Alexa and I am a second year medical student at the University of Ottawa. I decided to join ISRCH because I wanted to contribute to a student-run organization that provides an engaging platform for students to share their healthcare research. This conference is an exceptional opportunity for students to share their knowledge, network with others, and learn about innovative projects that are shaping the medical field. Pooya Sekhavati | VP Communications
Hello there! My name is Pooya, and I am an MS3 at the University of Ottawa Medical School. I joined the organization to take part in running one of Canada’s most innovative, interdisciplinary, and student-led research conferences. I look forward to the amazing presentations by our student scientists and interacting with our renowned judges. Angela Kwan | VP Promotions & Design
Hi everyone! My name is Angela, and I am a current Doctor of Medicine (MD) student at the University of Ottawa and VP Promotions & Design at ISRCH. Previously, I completed my Master of Science (MSc) degree in Chemistry and undergraduate studies (HBSc) in Chemistry & Biology for Health Sciences at the University of Toronto. I have a strong interest in both basic and clinical science research, especially in the fields of neurology, internal medicine, neurosurgery, oncology, psychiatry, and public health. My mission is to help minimize the gap in equity within our healthcare system, and promote advocacy, inclusivity, and justice. Through ISRCH, I hope to advocate for and highlight the importance of interdisciplinary research in creating unified intellectual frameworks, which are crucial to improving our current healthcare system. Through collaboration with law, public health, and medical students, our student-led conference will help enrich the education of upcoming contributors to our healthcare system and research community. I am super excited to showcase this year’s event to everyone and looking forward to working with our amazing ISRCH team!

Tanvi Ahluwalia | VP Logistics
Hey everyone! My name is Tanvi and I am the VP logistics for ISRCH. I’m currently doing a MSc in biochemistry at uOttawa, and this is my third year with ISRCH! I really enjoy working with ISRCH because I have always been interested in the interdisciplinary aspect of healthcare and medicine, and wanted to help bring students from different backgrounds together! I am so excited to work with this new team this year, and I can’t wait for you to see what we have in store!

Ayesha Siddiqua | VP Faculties
Hello! My name is Ayesha (she/her), and I am in my fifth year of university. My program is Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Computer Science. This is my second year as part of the ISRCH team as VP of Faculties and I hope to learn lots of new things this year! I joined the ISRCH because I have always been interested in healthcare, especially epidemiology and wanted to learn more about it through interaction with other like-minded souls. I’m stoked to work with my team and discover more about the world of healthcare!

Emily Liang | VP Events
​Hi there! My name is Emily, and I am a first-year medical student at uOttawa and the VP of Events on the ISRCH team. Prior to this, I completed my bachelor's degree in Health Sciences at McMaster University. My journey in learning about and participating in the healthcare system has taught me that care is most impactful, equitable, and inclusive when it is informed by diverse perspectives and lived experiences. I'm thrilled to be part of the ISRCH team, because I see this conference as a much-needed platform where students from varied roles and backgrounds are able to collaborate, share knowledge, and learn from one another. I am excited to craft an unforgettable experience for everyone attending this year's conference by creating opportunities to foster connections and share insights, and I can't wait to see everyone there!
