Abstract Guidelines:
Order of sections:

Introduction: state your purpose/objective/aim, research questions, and hypothesis (if applicable)

Methods: state your methodology or methods
-
Results: state the results of your study
-
Optional: you may insert a maximum of 2 figures or small tables. Figures and tables must be numerically labelled and contain a caption. Figures and tables should not exceed ¼ the width or length of your text body. Text around the table or figure should be wrapped
-

Discussion: discussion on results and their significance to answering your research question(s)
-
Significance or Impact: State the significance of your study, future directions, or how this body of work contributes to the healthcare or scientific community.

References: list full text references in the order they appear (see notes below)

*For proposals, protocols, or preliminary results, you may use the sections: Introduction, Methods, Objectives, Expected results, Significance.
Other formatting notes:

In-text references should be in footnotes format (superscript with number behind reference)
-
Full-length references should be in the format, “Last name, et al. (if applicable), Journal name abbreviation, Year”
-
Do not exceed 5 references
-
All margins (top, bottom, left, right) must be no less than 2.00 cm
-
Text must be justified
-
Title, co-authors, and co-author’s affiliations must be centered
-
Title must be bolded
-
Author affiliations format: Department (if applicable), Institution, City, Country
-
Author affiliations must be italicized
-
Indicate the presenting author with an asterisk after their name (i.e., Kate Beatty1*, …)
-
The entire document must not exceed 1 page in length
-
Times New Romans font; 12 point font, single-spaced, 6 pt between sections
-
One figure is permitted and must be captioned using the heading “Figure 1:”
-
Abbreviations must be stated in full at first appearance in the document
-
Each section must contain the headings “Introduction:”, “Methods:”, “Results:”, “Discussion:”, “Significance:”, “References:”
